Wetcam

My webcam fell into my mug of tea this morning. Which means I won't be able to make any videos until I get it fixed. I'll just have to try to blog more. A change is as good as a rest, as they say. Although I'm not sure why they say that. It's not necessarily true, if you think about it for more than a couple of seconds. I imagine that what they mean is, if you're working on some tedious, repetitive job and then you suddenly have a chance to do something different, then that's as good as just stopping work altogether for a while. But what if the change is a bad change? What if you're working at your dull, unrewarding job, and then suddenly armed rebels rush into your place of work and kidnap you and keep you in a prison camp in the jungle for an unknown period of time? Surely then you'd be saying "I'd much prefer to just sit down for a while and have a cup of tea, then return to my job. Because no matter how dull it was, it was much, much better than living in this squalid camp surrounded by jungle insects and dangerously undisciplined men with automatic rifles. Those people who say that a change is as good as a rest obviously haven't thought their facile aphorism through." |
